Belgian GP 2023
Red Bull managed to break a record holding since 1988 when Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost got 11 consecutive wins with McLaren. Red Bull now has 12 consecutive wins (10 of them taken by Max Verstappen) and show no signs of stopping unless something unusual happens. Although Hamilton took the pole in the last race, Max was able to finish the race more than half a minute ahead of everyone else. If Perez can recover and score some wins and podiums, this record could be extended and may need several decades before it can be broken again.
The model predicts something that has become ‘normal’ during the past few races. Perez will mess up qualifying and start 10th but he will recover and take the 2nd place in the podium. On the other hand, the recent form of McLaren has not been clearly captured yet. I expect Norris and Piastri to fight hard for those podium positions.
Verstappen got a 5 place grid penalty and will start 6th.
