British GP 2022

Verstappen managed to win yet another race this season while the championship contender Leclerc finished 5th after starting in the last row of the grid. Unfortunately for him and his fans, Fernando Alonso could not convert his starting position (2nd) into a podium. Similarly, Sainz was ‘so close’ to taking his first victory but his Ferrari could not find traction out of the circuit’s hairpin. Going to Silverstone, Mercedes’ British duo will try to give their best in front of…

Ferrari suffered a huge blow in Azerbaijan with both drivers retiring. We cannot know whether Leclerc would have won the race, but definitely he would have been on the podium. Red Bull grabbed this chance by finishing 1-2 while George, Mr. consistency, Russell got the 3rd place. On another note, Lewis suffered so much from the porpoising (i.e. bouncing) effect that FIA announced plans to tackle this problem. The solution won’t come soon, but it’s nice to see safety being…

Ferrari and Leclerc failed to convert a Monaco pole position to a race win twice in the last two years. The Monegasque desperately wanted to win in his home race but he ended up being 4th due to mistakes in race strategy. Perez went on to win this race and Max extended his lead on Charles. Ferrari seem to have a competitive car and will be hoping to convert this into race wins, and hopefully championships, sooner rather than later….

Monaco GP 2022

Despite a dominant race by Leclerc in Spain, it was Verstappen who saw the chequered flag first since Charles had to retire the car. Surely, he will try to become the 2nd ever Monaco-native to win this glamorous GP since Nico Rosberg won three races in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Mercedes also seems to have done major steps forward and should start pressuring the two top teams for podiums and possibly for race wins given the appropriate circumstances. Please share…

Miami GP race proved once more that Red Bull is the fastest car (in Max’s hands) but the Ferraris are consistent, and rather importantly, reliable. Of course, its way too early to say that the Red Bulls will be the strongest car in all races. In contrast, most teams will be bringing heavy updates in Barcelona this week hoping to make gains. The cars are still new and most teams will find many tenths per lap in the coming months….

Miami GP 2022

F1 has finally cracked Florida’s market by hosting the first ever Miami GP that will be held around the iconic Hard Rock stadium – home stadium of the Miami Dolphins NFL team. The current American F1 commercial rights owner have certainly helped F1 boost the number of fans in the last few years, especially with the help of Netflix series “drive to survive”. Still, I have a feeling that F1 will become more mainstream, more entertainment focused, less technology focused…

Ferrari is leading the F1 constructors championship and the upcoming race is held Imola… you can imagine how fascinating the atmosphere created by the tifosis is going to be! Moreover, this race will feature the Sprint format. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of that concept but it, indeed, produced an amazing race last year in Brazil (although this should be attributed to Hamilton, not to the sprint format). Please share the post:

Ferrari’s drivers, Leclerc and Sainz, sit on the top of the drivers standings after two races in the new generation cars. Of course, Verstappen and Perez had a DNF and lost several points – still, Ferrari has more than double the points of the closest competitor. Due to restrictions and logistical challenges relating to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Melbourne GP was cancelled in 2021 but returns this year with several changes in its layout and four DRS zones! How…

Saudi Arabian GP 2022

After an amazing Ferrari show in the opening race of the new era, the next GP is held in Saudi Arabia. A circuit that produced a great show and lots of controversy in 2021. This time the dynamics have changed with Mercedes and Lewis trying to get on top of their new car issues. In contrast, the Ferraris seem to have interpreted the new regulations pretty well and have possibly delivered a championship-worthy car. Still, it is very early days…

New season, new cars, new champion……. Hmm, I’m not really sure about the last one since FIA has practically recognized that Masi’s decision in Abu Dhabi GP was wrong by firing him and therefore robbed Lewis his 8th world championship. Nevertheless, the new F1 era with heavily revised cars will bring more opportunities for cars to race closer but also provides teams with a chance to start car design from a blank sheet of paper. That’s why we’ve seen many…
