The long awaited move of George Russell from Williams to Mercedes for 2022 season has finally been confirmed! This guy really deserves a place in a championship-winning team. However, his job will be the hardest job on earth – to beat Lewis Hamilton in the same car… I’m sure he will amaze us with his attitude, his speed and his approach next season. This change also means that Bottas will be leaving Mercedes to join Alfa Romeo in the place of Kimi Raikkonen who retires at the end of this season.

The teams are coming into the Italian GP after a great Dutch GP on a circuit that became one of the drivers’ favourites despite not providing many opportunities for overtakes. In Italy, Lewis and Mercedes hope to bounce back and retake the lead on the driver’s championship. Moreover, Ferrari will hope to extend their advantage over McLaren in front of their home crowd – the tifosi!
