After what has been the most unpredictable Grand Prix so far in 2018 season, F1 is heading to Baku that holds the Azerbaijan GP. Last year, this circuit gave us some moments to remember such as Vettel colliding with Hamilton on purpose and Ricciardo’s three-way pass. This year, Lewis has yet to win a GP and I think he, and Mercedes, will give it all to achieve this.
Still, the model gives a 55% chance of Vettel qualifying ahead of Hamilton. It predicts a Ferrari 1-3, a Mercedes 2-4 and a Red Bull 5-6 in the qualifying. Lance Stroll, who finished on the podium last year, is expected to start at the lower end of the grid given Williams’ recent struggles. I believe that Hamilton will do his magic and win this race against the predictions.
As always, race predictions have been updated after the qualifying session.
Hulkenberg has received a 5 place grid penalty.
